The Sentry external antenna kit allows for the antenna to be mounted outside of the control box. This could be useful to help with range issues caused by physical obstructions existing between the main control box and the transmitting device (hand held transmitter / mounted keypad) by placing the antenna further away and higher in the air for better line of sight.
